6 Ways To Attract And Retain Professionals In 2024
04 March 2024
According to Linked Talent Solutions, the top 6 reasons why people stay with a company really focus on growth within that company. If you’re looking to recruit and retain top talent in 2023, these items can impact your recruitment strategy, company culture, and bottom line.
#ProfessionalGrowth
54% of respondents indicated they would continue working for a company and job where they could continuously gain new skills. In order to stay current and competitive as professionals, top professionals frequently strive to expand their hard and soft skill sets, much like a developing business. Encourage strategic growth that is advantageous to the organization and the professionals in it rather than maintaining professionals in their "lane" out of concern that they might quit (since doing so will likely encourage them to do so).
Confidence in the Future of The Company
In the past year, numerous businesses have hired sizable employee populations just to fire them months or even weeks later. The tech industry and several other industries have just released thousands of experienced professionals into the market who are getting claimed by their growing and more nimble competitors. While this is a simplification of the facts, it will be more difficult to hire in the future if professionals are wary of working for a firm that pivots so abruptly and frequently without warning. building trust with your workforce and potential employees is difficult to develop and easy to break.
Excellent #WorkLifeBalance
While there are ongoing discussions on the effectiveness of 4 or even 3-day work weeks or providing food and wellness options at work. Work-life balance is and has always been employee driven. While a corporation may believe that its employees have this balance, there is no way to really confirm this without input from the workforce. If you listen to your staff, they will tell you what's essential to them. They will tell you in their interviews, their onboarding, and reviews. Your business will profit, as well as your employees, if you take this criticism seriously and let it affect workloads, schedules, and how people are handled.
Clear #PathwaysToPromotion
This one is difficult. Some folks are pleased and contented staying w.here they are. Others are acutely aware of this and aspire to career advancement. 70 percent of workers, according to poll data cited by Inc, would welcome a promotion but would prefer to have more freedom, flexibility, and/or autonomy in their employment. You still need to establish clear pathways to the following levels inside your organization even while this doesn't preclude these people from promotions (and shouldn't because some of these people are EXACTLY the people who should be promoted). If at all possible, try to make processes that affect your staff more transparent, particularly those that involve promotions.
Transparent #CompanyValues
One of the first things that might draw in great personnel is frequently your company's basic principles. If appropriately applied, your core values can give your team motivation, direct your business procedures, and build consumer and internal organizational trust. Avoid the temptation to use your company's principles as a shield against competing ideas, instead using them as a road map to advance your business and mission. Effective marketing, branding, and recruiting will help to spread the word about your business as the ideal partner for career success.
#WorkFlexibility
While this particular item, #WorkplaceFlexibility, is a topic thrust to the forefront of employment discussions over the last few years, it is really an old one. With newer and better technology, there has come a great boom in options to offer #WFH, #WorkFromAnywhere, #RemoteWork, or hybrid arrangements that are easy to manage and are proven to provide better productivity. Organizations that truly value employing diverse candidates now have excellent solutions for providing strategic accommodations for top professionals with disabilities or attracting employees in communities that it may not have been able to access previously.
